Chemcial Engineering Innovation Project (ChIP)
The Chemical Engineering Innovation Project (ChIP) is a year long project designed to introduce freshmen and sophomore chemical engineers to key topics. Members learn about process design, process control, and experiment design during fall quarter. During winter and spring quarter, they design, build, and test a complex chemical engineering project. Members learn technical skills, as well as valuable experience working with a team.
During the 2016-2017 school year, students built a coffee maker. During the 2017-2018, students will design a batch reactor for soap with a cooling tower.
ChIP is led by Richa Ghosh and Steven Drooz.
